If you plug in the cable, you're no longer using the Bluetooth connection, but the mic in the headset still works, so does the noise canceling. In fact the noise reduction seems even better in my experience. But, the sound quality via cable is not quite as good as without.

Calling 8.5/10 (I don't talk on the phone much but when I do I prefer wh xm4s) Comfort 8.5/10 (fine at first but hurt the top of my head where the band sits after a 3-hour gaming sesh) Overall 9.2/10.
