Memphis-based logistics giant FedEx is reducing its headcount as it works to "streamline and realign functions."

South, is laying off what it called a "small number" of staff as the company wants to "streamline and realign functions."

FedEx is laying off some workers, the company confirmed late Wednesday, though it’s not clear how many or in what roles. Some FedEx employees in Memphis said they knew first-hand that local workers were affected.
